I posted a week or so ago about a bad Craigs List experience. I have been on the look for large folding tables for my new scrapbook/craft room. I found a table last night but it was up north in Everett. Bob thought that with such a reasonable price it would worth the drive. I contacted the seller and we made arrangements for this afternoon. Bob gets home from work, the girls are home from school so Bob and I head out. I have my trusty GPS to guide us. We are basically traveling to Everett which is about 25 minutes from us. We keep going until we are viewing the Puget Sound. We are in Mukilteo, one of our favorite cities. My GPS begins to guide us up a steep lane, the houses getting nicer and nicer. These mansions are gorgeous the views they have of the sound are incredible. We reach the end of this street and the table owner's house is smack in front of us. Bob keeps asking me if I am sure this is it and tells me he hopes his truck doesn't develop some oil leak on this cobblestone driveway. We pull into the large circular driveway, careful not to hit the sports car. We peer into the three car garage and there is the table. It is the right house. Out comes a normal, extremely nice gentleman. I hand him my crumpled wad of cash, he helps Bob load the table into our truck and comments that "this Craigs List is really cool and how he has met some really nice people. "
Bob and I agree and tell him thanks. We are cracking up as we leave. Bob says we would never normally be invited up to a neighborhood such as this on a normal day. We were wondering why the seller didn't have one of his "people" get rid of the table instead of selling it on Craigs list. When we get home, I Google the table seller and find out who he is. He and his wife are both attornies and partners in a family sports business. He owns a minor league baseball team, his brother is the general manager of the San Diego Padres and his father was the G.M. for the Dodgers at one time, another brother was a six term mayor of Flagstaff, AZ.
It was quite a bit nicer of a situation than the scum bag, lying lowlife, cheapskate, hoarder we dealt with last week. I told Bob, "you just never know where you are gonna end up."
Yes, this really is the house and for 1,500,000.00 it can be all yours!
